Kate Tompkins, MD
Infectious Diseases Specialist
Dr. Tompkins completed medical school at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine followed by an internal medicine residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. She then returned to the University of North Carolina to complete her fellowship in infectious disease. After fellowship, she completed two years of research on a T32 training grant where her research interests focused on emerging infections and novel diagnostics to detect antimicrobial resistance. She has an interest in global health and in using health technology to improve access to care. Currently, she provides inpatient telehealth services for general infectious diseases.
