Infectious Disease Connect Strengthens Clinical, Operational, and Growth Leadership Amid Continued Expansion

Infectious Disease Connect has strengthened its leadership team through three internal promotions while positioning itself for continued growth with a strategic addition to the business development team.

The leadership expansion comes as demand for tele-ID services continues to rise, with healthcare organizations seeking innovative solutions to address infectious diseases specialist shortages and improve patient outcomes.

Kate Gass has been promoted to Vice President of Practice and Services Implementation. Since joining ID Connect, Kate has played a pivotal role in developing and scaling the operational framework behind ID Connect’s tele-ID services.

In her expanded role, she will lead implementation strategy and service delivery across ID Connect’s growing network of partner hospitals, helping ensure organizations realize the full clinical and operational value of their tele-ID programs from day one.

Matt Davis has been promoted to Director of ID Pharmacy and Antimicrobial Stewardship. A recognized leader in infectious diseases pharmacy, Matt has helped advance antimicrobial stewardship initiatives that improve patient care while supporting responsible antibiotic use.

As ID Connect continues to expand its stewardship services, Matt will lead efforts to strengthen pharmacy partnerships, optimize antimicrobial management programs, and support hospitals in meeting their ROI, quality, and patient safety goals.

Cameron Casanova has been promoted to Director of Data, Analytics & AI. Cameron has been instrumental in building the software infrastructure that helps ID Connect and hospital partners deliver cost-effective, quality infectious diseases care.

In his new role, he will lead the organization’s analytics and artificial intelligence initiatives, advancing ID Connect’s ability to transform clinical data into actionable insights that improve patient outcomes and operational performance.

ID Connect also recently welcomed Maryellen Vaghefi as Business Development Manager. In her role, Maryellen works closely with hospitals and health systems to identify opportunities to expand access to infectious diseases expertise through ID Connect’s telemedicine services.

Her addition strengthens ID Connect’s business development team as the organization continues to grow its national footprint and support more healthcare partners.

“We’re entering an exciting period of growth, and that starts with investing in great people,” said Rima Abel Massih, M.D., President, Chief Executive Officer, and Co-Founder of Infectious Disease Connect. “Recognizing these leaders and welcoming Maryellen positions us to better support hospitals nationwide while continuing to advance our commitment to high-quality, academic infectious diseases care.”
