Recently featured on ContagionLive, findings from an August 2022 Open Forum Infectious Diseases academic journal titled “In-Person Versus Tele-Infectious Disease (Tele-ID) Care: Is One Better?” compares outcomes at three community hospitals before and after switching from in-person to  Tele-ID consultations. 

The article explores the benefits and impact of telemedicine on lengths of stay, antimicrobial prescribing and other measures by comparing several recent studies which examined the use of tele-consults in inpatient settings.
