Aaron Pickering, PharmD, BCPS

Aaron earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Duquesne University’s Mylan School of Pharmacy in 2012. He then completed two years of post-graduate training within the UPMC health system, specializing in infectious diseases during his second year at UPMC Presbyterian-Shadyside.
Following residency, he aided in the development of the antimicrobial stewardship program at University of Maryland Baltimore-Washington Medical Center and co-led the program after its creation. Aaron then moved back to Pittsburgh to take on the role of antimicrobial stewardship program pharmacy lead at UPMC St. Margaret prior to taking his current position at ID Connect in 2024. His professional interests include improving antimicrobial use and patient outcomes through innovative stewardship efforts and utilizing technology to improve program workflow. He also has a passion for interdisciplinary teaching, specifically related to antimicrobial stewardship and infectious diseases pharmacy. In his spare time, Aaron enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, being outdoors, and the occasional round of golf.
