Tom Barrett

Tom spent six years as an intel analyst in the U.S. Army. When he completed his enlistment, Tom struck off into the world of information technology as a database administrator. Working in this capacity in the late 90s, Tom was one of the pioneers of the software quality movement working with contemporaries like Jerry Valdez and Mike Seamus to lay the groundwork for where quality has grown in our current times. Tom’s software background is diverse as he’s worked in the pharmaceutical, medical, financial, gaming, and e-commerce industries as a software systems architect, system analyst, and quality assurance analyst.
He currently lives in the mountains of upstate New York with his wife and youngest son where his hobbies are gardening, fishing, and writing.
