Katy Starnes

Implementation Specialist

Katy is a registered nurse with 15 years of clinical experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Austin, Texas. She is passionate about serving the underserved and evidence-based practice. During her time as a nurse, Katy took on a consultancy to implement a program reducing hospitalizations for the sickest patients in the community. Recently she was asked to consult with the quality department to identify root causes leading to hospital readmissions. In her spare time, Katy volunteered in program development and grant writing for an international nonprofit organization. She has a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University and earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas. 

Katy and her husband have 3 children, Annalee, Ethan and Westin. In her spare time Katy loves to lift weights, read books, and spend time in the mountains.  Katy also loves to travel and learn about other cultures.
